Located in the heart of Hondori Shopping Street, just a short walk from Peace Park, our restaurant is easily accessible for both locals and tourists. Though we're on the second floor (so keep an eye out!), step inside and be greeted by our warm, friendly staff.

Part-time (hall staff)

A day on the floor

Clock in, grooming check, opening prep (table setup, cleaning)
Seat guests, take orders, serve food and drinks
Payments at the register, clear tables
Closing tasks, hand over to the next shift

Job: Serving guests in the dining room (seating, orders, serving, clearing), the register and cleaning (possible change: any shop work)
Pay: ¥1,200 per hour (the same during training)
Pay raises: A raise after one year. Depending on your work, a raise can come in as little as 3 months
Travel: Travel costs paid (up to ¥500 a day)
Meals: Staff meals provided
Hours: Shifts between 11:00 and 21:30 (from 3 hours a day; days and hours agreed at the interview) (breaks as required by law)
Hours: Shifts within weekdays 11:00–14:30 / 17:00–22:00 and weekends 11:00–22:00 (days and hours agreed at the interview) (breaks as required by law)

Full-time (shop manager candidate)

Job: Running the shop (serving guests, staff shifts and training, sales and purchasing) (possible change: any work running Ganesh shops)
Pay: ¥200,000 a month (base salary) + incentives
Incentives: An incentive scheme based on the shop's sales. Details are discussed and decided at the meeting
Travel: Travel costs paid (up to ¥500 a day)
Meals: Staff meals provided
Hours: 8 hours a day (1-hour break), shifts within the shop's opening hours
Days off: 2 days a week (by shift)
Overtime: None
Paid leave: As required by law
Contract: No fixed term
Trial period: 1 month (same conditions)

FAQ

Is it OK with no experience?

Yes. A senior staff member teaches you everything during a 1-month training period.

Do I need cooking experience or knowledge of Indian food?

No. This job is hall (customer service) staff; our chefs do all the cooking. You'll learn the menu naturally as you work.

Students, homemakers, a second job: is that OK?

Yes, welcome. Shifts are flexible around exams and family plans.

Can foreign residents apply?

Yes, welcome. You need enough Japanese for simple customer service. At hiring we check your residence card to confirm you are allowed to work.

Are meals provided?

Yes, our chefs make a staff meal on your work days.

Is there social insurance?

Yes, labour insurance: everyone is covered by workers' accident insurance, and staff working 20+ hours a week join employment insurance.
